Stefan Sagmeister came to RIT during my senior year to give a lecture and while we anticipated his arrival he challenged the campus to "Touch Someone's Heart with Design." Working with classmates Bridget Brennan, Alyssa Constino and Felicia Brown we came up with the idea of depicting each of RIT's college librarians as a superhero as a way to show them how much their dedication is appreciated by students. Each character is individualized to each librarian with a name and or superpower that relates to either their field of study or their hobbies. We kept the project a secret until completion and then gave out the cards to eight very touched librarians at a mini reception in the library.  Around campus after the project was over, you would notice the librarians still using their superhero identities— as business cards, door posters and even sign-offs in emails!
